In May 2007, Summersault announced a restructuring of its website hosting services.
The highlight of this transition is the availability of hosting plans that use the cPanel web-based control panel to manage all aspects of website and e-mail accounts from one interface.
As a part of this change, we are also offering more disk space and bandwidth in our hosting plans, while keeping the prices the same.
Here is a summary of the changes we've made to all Summersault hosting plans:
- All "Basic Hosting" plans now include 1 GB of disk space and 10 GB of monthly bandwidth (our old Basic plan only had 50 MB of disk and 5 GB of bandwidth)
- All "Business Hosting" plans now include 5 GB of disk space and 30 GB of monthly bandwidth (our old Business plan only had 100 MB of disk and 10 GB of bandwidth)
- All hosting plans now include access to a PostgreSQL or MySQL database; the number of databases allotted varies by plan.
We'll be making these changes to existing hosting accounts soon, but if you want to take advanage of the increases right away, just submit a technical support request and let us know!
Note that these changes will generally be available to all Summersault hosting clients, but may not apply in some cases where a special package is in place or other discounts and arrangements have been worked out.
If you've been using Summersault's conventional hosting infrastructure (setup prior to May 2007), then you know that even with the increased disk space and bandwidth quotas listed above, there are some improvements to be made. If you want more control over your hosting plan, we hope you'll consider moving to our new system. Some of the benefits include:

- More user friendly website usage statistics. Are you tired of navigating "Wusage"? Now you can see your website traffic with "AWStats," another industry standard, and you can even see recent visitor traffic in realtime without waiting for the daily stats to update.
- Better spam protection and more user-configurable anti-spam settings.
- Add great software tools like weblogs, forums, chat rooms and more to your site with one click
- Easily password protect directories, manage your website files, and see how much space different parts of your site are using up
- Manage subdomains and aliased domains without having to open a support ticket
- The ability to backup your site and its databases via the web
- You still get the same great customer service and access to our expertise about website design and development.
