<description>Ray - I think having a professional installation created for you is a good way to go if A) you have the funds, B) you don't have the time to do it yourself, and C) you have anything about your configuration needs that might go beyond a &quot;simple&quot; setup. Otherwise I would say there is a lot of value in learning the internals and configuration process yourself so that you can troubleshoot and expand the system on your own.

I can't speak to the question about using existing lines versus getting new ones; that would be something a professional installer could help with (even if they don't do the complete install for you).

I hope that helps - have fun!

					<description>Chris

I was really glad to read about your experience with asterisk. My company is in Fayetteville, TN, but I live in Huntsville...home of Digium and asterisk and so there is really no excuse for me. I am on my 3rd panasonic switch system and it is just an amazing cluster. the idea of having my vmail emailed to me is just fantastic. We have about 50 people in our company, but not more than 20 extensions and only 8 pots lines including fax.

I guess I want this thing to be stable from the start, so looking back, would It be good to get someone like inter7 to just assemble it and go? Do I use any of our current analog lines, or should we just look at buying all new extensions?

thanks for your help
