Darcs project adopts Summersault-designed logo

Posted by Summersault on November 2nd, 2004

RICHMOND, IN – The Darcs project, an open source advanced revision control system, announced today that it has accepted and adopted a new logo for the project, created by Summersault designer Evan Agee.

The new logo symbolizes the decentralized nature of the Darcs approach to code management.  “I wanted to create a logo that illustrates how Darcs works, but in the most simple way possible,” said Agee.  “I’m very happy with how it turned out.”

The new Darcs logo announcement accompanies the exciting release of version 1.0 of the software, which is emerging as a popular alternative to the CVS revision control system used by many developers globally.  Summersault Principal Developer Mark Stosberg has become active in the project as a part of evaluating it for use on Summersault projects, and currently contributes to the Darcs developer and user communities in a variety of ways.

Linux Weekly News recently noted, “Darcs could prove to be a very useful tool for numerous open-source development projects. Project leaders should certainly consider its adoption.”

Summersault, LLC, founded in 1997, is a leader in database driven web solutions. The Richmond, Indiana based firm offers a single point of contact for highly customized web design and application development solutions, as well as professional consulting services and support.
