RICHMOND, IN — Summersault’s team in the Eighth Annual Richmond Rotary Club Quiz Bowl finished a close second to the winning group from the local newspaper, The Palladium-Item. Summersault staff members Matt Christian and Chris Hardie, and colleague Nick Fankhauser from DoxPop, formed this year’s team. The team was coached by Mark Stosberg, also of Summersault.

The Quiz Bowl is held annually to raise funds and awareness for the Genesis Women’s Shelter in Richmond, and bring together community organizations and residents for an evening of fun competition. This year’s event, held on the Indiana University East campus on Tuesday night, featured several celebrity quiz masters from the area, including Richmond mayor Sally Hutton. The trivia question categories ranged from popular culture to politics, from history to world events.

On Wednesday following the event, the team members announced that they would be donating the second place prize money back to the Genesis shelter. The team also released details of its upcoming training schedule, which begins later this month in preparation for next year’s contest.
