RICHMOND, IN – Summersault, a leader in database driven website solutions based here, marks its 10th anniversary on Aug. 15 with a $10,000 donation to support technology education and sustainable business practices.
Originating in the dorm rooms of two Earlham College students, the entrepreneurial firm today has more than 300 clients located across the U.S. “It’s been the experience of a lifetime to create a new business from the ground up and see it grow the way it has,” said Chris Hardie who co-founded Summersault with partner Mark Stosberg. “We set out to do much more than just make a living, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved.”
The celebratory donations are $5,000 to Morrisson-Reeves Library for new technology education programs and $5,000 to the Richmond-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce to fund a speaker series related to sustainable business practices.
"Sustainability in business practices is an issue for all of us. This generous gift to the Chamber will enable us to provide valuable information to our membership that will in turn benefit the entire community," said Dennis Andrews, President and CEO of the Chamber.
In 1997, Hardie and Stosberg had a vision for a new venture, a website development company that would help organizations use the then-relatively young technologies of the Internet to make the world a better place. They called their new partnership “Summersault” because they felt the images the name evoked – energy, youth, forward motion, and complete revolution -- accurately portrayed the enthusiasm they had for the business and the technologies of the Internet.
Today, Summersault offers a single point of contact for highly customized web design and application development solutions, as well as professional consulting services and support. Its mission is to “build and sustain communities using the technologies of the Internet.”
On August 15th, Summersault staff will join with friends and community members to celebrate its decade of entrepreneurship and community building, and look forward with enthusiasm to the years ahead.
