RICHMOND, IN — Summersault and the creators of Tagged Message Delivery Agent (TMDA) are
pleased to announce the selection of a new logo, designed by Summersault
website development, for the TMDA software project.
TMDA is a spam reduction tool that uses a variety of innovative countermeasures to thwart spam. Members of the Open Source software community, coordinated by author Jason R. Mastaler, develop the TMDA software by collaborating on the Internet. In February of 2003, Mastaler announced a public contest to design the TMDA logo. Several members of Summersault's staff had recently contributed to the project in other ways after successfully using the software to protect their own inboxes, and were excited about contributing to the project. After several design concepts created by Summersault were selected as finalists from the 40 original submissions, Summersault worked with Mastaler to refine and complete the final logo.
" We think the lighthouse image is a great way to summarize TMDA's important technical features in an artistic, graphically appealing way," said Evan Agee, a graphic designer at Summersault who worked on the logo." Just as a lighthouse keeps the ships that aren't supposed to be there away, and helps the ones that are to get where they're going, TMDA keeps junk e-mails away and helps the good ones to get to the right place."
" I really liked the symbolism, "said Mastaler, "and it's what pushed the Summersault logo ahead of the pack at the end."
